Hmmm, shooting a stranger, sounds kind of weird, don’t you think?  Well, it’s not actually, and it’s so fun!  Thank you Dana of shortandsweet photography for suggesting such a fun challenge.  Dana comes up with these interesting challenges once a month or so.  I was lucky enough to miss the self portrait challenge!  Even though I was on board immediately with this particular challenge, I knew I would be hard pressed for time to complete it over the weekend as I had three photo sessions booked over the weekend, phew!  However, some friends of mine held the grand opening of their new salon in downtown Napa, Sala Salon Friday evening, so my husband and I attended.  Wow, if you’re in the area, you need to go check this new salon out!  I can’t say enough about how unique this day spa is, especially in an area like the Napa Valley, where these types of places pop up so frequently. You will love your experience!

And so, as I was partaking in one of the many wonderful complimentary services that evening, I met this lovely person Mika.  She’s both talented and beautiful.  And, she allowed me to take her photograph.  I loved Mika’s eyes, her approachable and friendly personality and, she has the most amazing tattoos as well.  Here are some of the photos I took of her that night.  I wish we would have had more time, but she was working after all.

When I asked Mika about this unique tattoo, she told me that it isn’t finished yet.  Halos, etc. will be added and that it’s an ‘ink’ reproduction of a painting on a ceiling in a church her grandmother attended in Texas.
